Inglewood Newsletter – February 2023

Persimmon Homes would like to welcome you all to the second edition of the monthly newsletter for the development at Inglewood, Paignton.

After the first newsletter in January 2023 we are providing updates that have occurred on the site over the last month.

One of the key and most relevant changes that has occurred recently is that the materials for the development have been selected after discussions with Torbay County Council. Through the process of material selection we have been conscious of selecting materials that blend in well with the area as well as providing different character areas for the different parts of the development. Materials of both grey and red brick, natural stone and render and reconstituted stone will all be used for the external facings of the dwellings with slate and tile used for roofs which will all be spread out across the site. Through discussions with Torbay Council we have added additional materials at their request such as the red brick given their thoughts on it being used comprehensively around the area of Torbay. We will also be installing a materials palette board on the site to demonstrate and display the materials that are being used.

We have also been continuing work in terms of the ecology including monitoring strategies and wildlife boards. Wildlife boards are being worked on to be placed on the site within the green spaces describing the ecology of the area such as species present. Annual reports will be produced by Devon Wildlife Trust on both Greater Horseshoe Bats and Cirl Buntings including survey maps and data analysis.

Further and additional documents have been submitted since the last edition of the newsletter including an updated and revised plans and elevations for various house types, updates to the materials plans, vehicle charging plans, street scenes construction phasing plans.

In addition to this there has been progress to the bus stop that is located at the Quarry’s Edge part of the development (shown in figure 2 below) with specifications submitted to Torbay County Council for the shelter. We have also started engagement with both South Devon College and Stagecoach.
